R U OK? Day Twilight Walk
Join us for our R U OK? Day Twilight Walk, an afternoon of connection, conversation and community.
Hear from guest speakers, enjoy free food and drinks, go in the draw for a lucky door prize, and join us for a twilight walk together.
There’ll be a barbecue and sandwiches, along with juice, tea and coffee.
Wear something yellow and come along for R U OK? Day.

Free ATO Tax Help at DBNC
Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre is hosting an ATO-trained Tax Help volunteer to assist eligible community members with their tax returns.
Tax Help is a free Australian Taxation Office program for eligible people with simple tax affairs.
Appointment times
Tax Help appointments are available:
- Tuesdays
- 10am to 1pm
- Commencing 4th of August
- Appointments are essential.

Gather for Games
Looking for a relaxed way to meet new people, enjoy a cuppa and spend time in good company? Gather for Games is a friendly monthly activity at Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre where everyone is welcome to play, connect and laugh.
Join us for board games, cards, light refreshments and a welcoming space to unwind.
About Gather for Games
Gather for Games is a casual social activity held at Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre on the last Friday of each month.
Come along for board games, cards and good company in a friendly, low-pressure space. Whether you enjoy games, want to meet new people, or simply feel like getting out of the house for a cuppa and a chat, you are welcome to join in.
This activity is part of the DBNC SPARK Program, supporting connection, community participation and wellbeing in Deception Bay.

Support the No Interest Loans (NILS) Program
Looking to volunteer in Deception Bay and make a real difference in your community?
Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre is currently seeking volunteers to support our No Interest Loans (NILS) Program. This program helps people on low incomes access up to $2000 for essential items and services, supporting financial wellbeing and reducing financial stress.
As a volunteer, you will be part of a community-focused service that supports people doing it tough. If you enjoy working with people and want to contribute in a meaningful way, this is a great opportunity to get involved.
What is NILS?
The No Interest Loans (NILS) Program provides access to safe, fair and affordable loans for essential goods and services. It supports individuals and families to manage unexpected costs without the burden of high-interest debt.
Who should apply?
We are looking for people who:
- Enjoy working with others
- Are approachable and respectful
- Want to support their local community
